Being started shortly before entering the Grand Prix World Championship in early 2009, yesterday the official test circuit for all TXM teams, the
Akrotiri Bay International Circuit, has been completed and introduced to the motorsport public. With a seating capacity of over 100,000 and around 320 Million € being invested by both Total Xtreme Motorsport and the EU in top class facilities, the circuit is a state-of-the-art track, fitted for the needs of modern Grand Prix racing. "We most certainly hope that this track will find it's way on the plans of many race series", a track spokesman said. With over 80 percent of the lap spent at full throttle, the 5.783 kilometres long circuit is a true test for any car, allowing GPWC cars to set times of around 1:18.500. The many fans and experts at the track debut saw Yiasomis Mertakis in the Cyprus car taking some fast laps with nice pictures

Turn 1, an oval-like corner taking at full throttle

Turn 3 and 4, the Makarios-chicane, a very challenging part, any time loss there, and your lap is lost

Turn 5, the final corner, is a hairpin and a good chance to launch an attack

The finish straight, around 2500 metres of 100 % speed
