Jake Sanson has officially ended the SME relationship with Red Bull Racing, handing over all the contracts to McQueen Motorsport with immediate effect.

He has also unveiled a new helmet design which will feature his English and French heritage, interspersed with British Racing Green.

Mercedes is very happy with the decision that both drivers can't switch to an other team.

DRTW has accepted the apologies of McQueen Motors UK Sport. We needed the drivers to complete this season. It was a wast of time to get 2 new drivers in the cars... we needed these guys. Our relationship with McQueen Motors and the Red Bull teams is very good and will stay that way.

This means that Holland and Bamberger will race in Monaco and further with Mercedes.

After having an unsuccessful test with Toro Rosso, sportscar racer Scott Stoddard has turned down the opportunity to race for the team in Formula 1 in 2010.

Whilst Scott is lining up a move to join Brabham in place of Boy Arnhem (who remains with SME), the new number two driver at Toro Rosso alongside Luis Fonseca has been confirmed for Monaco:

Rikki Jordan.

An 18 year-old superstar from Jamaica. He has won every race so far of the Skip Barber Dodge series, having taken pole position and fastest lap in dominant form for each event.

"It will of course be hard for me, and we won't win any races this season, but I couldn't say no to this opportunity and I'd like to thank McQueen and Red Bull for giving it to me."

Round 7,
MONACO, Monte Carlo

It was tough to know what to expect from the "jewel in the crown" of Formula 1, with so many changes in team management and driver line-ups. What is definitely clear is that Mercedes have stepped forwards, and Renault have been completely left behind.

Sanson grabbed another pole, and was desperately seeking revenge for his failure in Istanbul, although Fernandez wasn't going to make it easy for him as he set fastest lap trying to put the Brit under pressure.

Honda's cars started 7th and 9th in a brilliant performance from the Japanese marque, but only Mason Du finished the race.

Jake Sanson drove out of his skin, constantly talking to the team about the car in fear of things going wrong. But for once, nothing did. He led every single lap of the race, and won by over a minute. It was the race win that Sanson has dreamt about since he was a boy, and he's now set his targets on the Indy 500 next week, Le Mans in June, and of course the British Grand Prix.

McLaren:

Race engineer Rob Salter: "Well done Jakey boy, great win. First class, first place in Monaco."
Sanson: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!!!!! YEAHHH!! ................WE WON MONACO, BOYS!!! GET IN!!! ....(sobs)...................Incredible......You're the best ....... all you guys...... you're the real heroes.... thank you.."

The team worked so hard today, and a double podium is the perfect way to finish a hard weekend. There were several problems with setup in practice, but it finally came together in Q2, and the race of our dreams. We know we won't win like this again this year, but there's only two races we wanted to win in 2010: Monaco and Silverstone. So it's one down, one to go!!

Round 8,
CANADA, Montreal

Jan Oner subs for Jake Sanson, who has stated he's fighting for race wins in F1 and the title in GPWC.

Tim Holland grabbed a brilliant pole position for Mercedes, but one of the toughest races of the year took it's toll as only seven cars made the flag.

Incredibly, an emotional Force India team had much to celebrate, with their second win of 2010, Domonik Waijenberg's first ever in F1, and a thrilling 1-2 for the team. Oner was third for McLaren, whilst Eddie Williams Jr set the fastest lap of the race.

Round 9,
USA, Indianapolis

Incredibly, Force India completely locked out the front row as it would appear that this team has the edge at this point of the season, with Waijenberg on pole and Olu Daji in second.

A huge accident going round the turn four banking on the new section of the course, was a terrifying way to start the race. Lewis Page clipped Eddie Williams Jr on the outside, and his Brabham flipped into the air at over 150 mph. He then skidded across the circuit being hit by Red Bull's Steven Kox.

Thankfully, he walked away uninjured. Kox was out on the spot, whilst Williams Jr continued. The WRL concluded the crash as merely a racing incident, and no penalties were issued.

A thrilling race saw a three-way fight between Jake Sanson, Fumio Fernandez and Olu Daji, after Waijenberg retired early with a stuck throttle. It ended when Fernandez spun whilst trying to catch Sanson, and then McLaren's world champion slowed to a halt with transmission failure.

It resulted in an emotional second win of the season for Olu Daji, which sets him up for a realistic title attack.

Tim Holland set fastest lap for Mercedes.

GERMANY, Nurburgring

A lights to flag victory for the reigning world champion was cruelly denied with just 7 laps to go.

Sanson had put his McLaren on pole, taken the lead, set fastest lap and led for 53 laps out of 60. Then his engine kicked the bucket and the frustrated Brit retired yet again.

It handed victory to his fellow Brit Tim Holland who led home a glorious 1-2 finish for Mercedes GP on their home soil.

Round 11
GREAT BRITAIN, Silverstone

Jake Sanson's morale couldn't have been lower just a few weeks ago after problems in GPWC. Back in the world of F1, the reigning world champion demonstrated why he has the title.

At Silverstone, in front of his home crowd, at the height of the championship, Jake Sanson demolished the competition. Pole position, fastest lap and race victory puts him right back into contention to defend his crown.

Round 12
HUNGARY, Hungaroring

It's clear that McLaren are getting frustrated with their current run of luck. Sanson again grabbed pole position and fastest lap, but this time he was tripped up by Rikki Jordan's Toro Rosso whilst duelling with Tim Holland. Jordan was out on the spot, and Sanson recovered to the pits for repairs. He would end up finishing down in 8th.

It gave Mercedes another 1-2 finish, bringing both drivers firmly into the fight for the world championship. Holland winning ahead of Bamberger once more, followed home in third by McLaren's Leszek Leuenberger.
