ROUND 3, SPRINT RACE, Shanghai (China)
Qualifying

For the first time in the series' history the young stars visit a longer track with lap times over 2 minutes. This means, obviously, that the Rookies have more chances to make errors. But still, just like the previous tracks the difference between the first and the last driver is somewhere around 1 second. After the first laps were run it became painfully obvious that the decision about Pole Position will be around Shinji Yamamoto. The Japanese youngster will lead the field through the warm-up lap on P1. Very impressive the performance of Vitaly Kevlin who made the most of his second run and will be on the front row as well. Sayed Essa leads the field of the drivers who have joined us in Shanghai with a good run to 7th place.

ROUND 3, SPRINT RACE, Shanghai (China)
Race

As a feature of the Sinopec Chinese F1 Grand Prix, the young stars of Formula Junior will want to give it their best in Shanghai as the lights go out and the race begins!

Despite only 8 laps being able to get done within 15 minutes, there are still some retirements. The most prominent retirement of this race has to be Shinji Yamamoto who lead the race comfortably but couldn't get more than 4 laps done, before he lost one of his wheels, of course making continuing impossible. Luckily for him, he has scored the fastest lap of the race, therefore giving him 2 points, enough to take the lead of the championship.

This retirement helped the race series because we have now the honor of seeing the closest fight to the finish yet. With maybe 1 or 2 seconds remaining, Marc Grosnuit was forced to start an eight lap and the person who forced him to do it used this chance perfectly. Sayed Essa took the chance and overtook the Frenchman with full force on the long straight, becoming the second debut winner in succession.

It's Sunday and the action in Formula Junior doesn't stop. The additional rubber laid down during F1 qualifying yesterday proved to be very helpful, with times increasing by two tenths. Previous pole-sitter Yamamoto was still on the same level as his first qualifying, but he was outmatched by both his teammate and Roy Marcumen, the Dutch driver scoring his first Formula Junior Pole Position after finding almost a second out there. But a team that has to be majorly disappointed is SME Mighty Ducks, being beaten by Brawn and being down there, barely close to the point scoring regions.

45 Minutes of shocking and action-filled Motorsport will await us now, the lights are on, the NP Holland/NERV front rows are ready to roll and we go now at the Shanghai International Circuit

Today's race is all about strategy, who can put an egg on whom's head? It soons seems like the battle for victory will be between Shinji Yamamoto and Pole Sitter Roy Marcumen who makes perfect use of the Track Position in the first laps before beating the later-stopping Shinji Yamamoto clearly. The second stop phase offers the same result with the little twist of Yamamoto having to pay for making his stop at the latest possible opportunity

45 Minutes translates into 18 Laps around the circuit ending with the very well deserved victory by Roy Marcumen. Taking the 2nd place rather unexpected is Stylianos Stasanor, who also managed to score the fastest lap of the race, earning two more points for his team.

Round 4, INDIANAPOLIS, Sprint Race
Qualifying

After the thrilling fights in China, we now cross the Pacific to get to Indiana to find out the best oval youngster. As part of the Indy 500, the crowd is complete and many, many eyes will be on the rookies. The championship leader Yamamoto was not able to handle this extreme pressure and dropped to 23rd place. Much better as this were the cars of Ruud Cruyt and Will Johnson who will share the front row for this unique challenge. Very surprisingly, the average position considered, the best team was Team New Zealand with Manuel Gargini in third and Ngati Waikato in sixth place. Generally speaking, the field is extremely close, only 0.7 seconds split the combattants.

Round 4, INDIANAPOLIS, Sprint Race

We're fighting on the weekend of the Indy 500 and the young rookies have to race 10 minutes on the high-speed oval without any mercy. Making good use of their front row starts, Ruud Cryut and Will Johnson take the lead and are looking strong for the win, but unfortunately, neither of them manages to finish this race - Cruyt lost a wheel and his opponent Johnson's suspension broke. Therefore, another driver was bound to take the win. And, after an extremely impressive performance, Zoe Kelly came back from P13 to win in extremely impressive style in front of Stasanor, who takes a bite of Shinji Yamamoto's championship lead and Formula Junior debutee and former SWC star Jacques Chardin taking over from Todd Lee at Dallara. Despite only finishing in 14th place, Dawood Issa still takes two points from this Sprint Race for scoring the fastest lap.

Round 4, INDIANAPOLIS, Main Race
Qualifying

45 Minutes of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, perhaps one of the most exciting races in this young series. And it's perhaps one of the most important races, seeing as any point scored in this race will be doubled. 30 Points for the winner and to get to these, it's quite helpful to get the fastest lap in qualifying. And this one belonged to Richard Eaton, improving a little bit on his last qualifying time, just enough to get up to first place. The first row of the last qualifying dropped back a bit, to 6th and 8th. Two drivers who improved noticeable are Asuka Rugen and Fritz Eisenberger, taking third and second respectively. The biggest drop of qualifying was for Jacques Chardin who didn't get either of this two laps together, forcing him to last place.

Race

It is double points time now, 30 points are in store for the one dominating this race. But "dominating" is actually the wrong word, it is a very close battle at the front with the decisive pass being made shortly after the beginning of the last lap with Richard Eaton making perfect use of his pole, just in front of Marc Grosnuit, who had a brilliant race. Special mention has to go to Manuel Gargini and Ngati Waikato who came from literally nowhere to get fourth and fifth place. This race was quite bad for both NERV Grand Prix who both retired with broken Suspensions, luckily avoiding a big accident, and the Mighty Ducks who only came 13th and 14th ... but Yeremenko at least gets four additional points for the fastest lap.
